Hi friends
this cameo I saw on an internet shop, is said to depict Antinous.
Is it really the Hadrian's favourite??
Is it a real cameo from the II century AD? or a modern carving??

cheers

Hi Caius

I think it isn't Antinous.

Here examples for cameos of Antinous, the most show a part of a Antinous statue or relief.

Antinous Albani relief

Antinous Braschi (statue)

I don't know your cameo or a similar portrait of him.

Do you know where the cameo was found? Or who was the prior owner?
